Formatting requirements
- Term papers need to be written in English
- Thesis length:
- term papers /seminars: 20 pages
- bachelor theses: 25 pages
- master theses: 65 pages
- Pages refer to main text and all figures (not included: table of contents, assurance, and references)
- term papers /seminars: 20 pages
- Font: Times New Roman (or similar); Line spacing: 1,5; Font size: 12pt
- Please use in-text citations (such as “as shown by Mayer (2008)” or “text here (Mayer, 2008).”) instead of citations in footnotes.
Assurance
Each thesis needs to include a signed assurance to assure that it is the student’s work. You can use the following text for your thesis:
I assure that I have written the above thesis independently and without outside help and that I have not made use of any aids other than those indicated in the enclosed lists. All text passages that have been taken verbatim or in spirit from third-party publications are identified as such. All sources taken from the World Wide Web or used in a digital form are attached to the work. No other persons were involved in the intellectual achievement of the present work. In particular, I have not enlisted the help of a ghostwriter or ghostwriting agency. Third parties have neither directly nor indirectly received money or monetary benefits from me for work related to the content of the submitted work. I hereby consent to the performance of an electronic plagiarism check. The submitted electronic version of the thesis is complete. I am aware that subsequent additions are excluded. The work has not yet been submitted to any other examination authority and has not been published. I am aware that an untrue statement regarding the assurance of independent performance may have legal consequences.
